The Home Library: A Book Lover's Dream

For anyone who cherishes the written word, a personal library isn't a luxury... it's an absolute necessity.

A home library can be grand and spacious...

Or a simple and lovely little reading nook...

You can create a home library by simply having a place for your books, and a comfy space to sit and read to your heart's content.

Are you feeling inspired to carve out your own little slice of heaven somewhere in your home?

I have aways loved the last image. How wonderful to be in the window while reading.
Hope that you are having a great week, Mary Ann.

I have a library in my studio. I would exchange it for the last image you displayed.
I do not have such a view, perhaps if I did, very little reading would occur

Hi Wendi, one of my favorite rooms because they can be so darn cozy and when they are you dont' want to leave! Love them.

Awesome rooms! I can't imagine having such a grand room like the one in the 2nd picture!
I'm not a big book reader but it sure is an impressive look.

Since I'm an avid reader, my mini library is my "little slice of heaven"!! I have a tall bookcase in the corner of my living room beside the window, and a big old chair to curl up in. It's my favorite place in the house. If I could, I'd love a library overlooking the living room like in the 5th picture. Now, THAT would be a dream come true!!
Hope you are doing well, Wendi, and your health is improving. I worry about you.

It's so true what you said about creating a little library space. Even though these larger libraries you've shown are all gorgeous, a person who loves to read simply needs to be surrounded by the books they love to be happy! Thanks for another inspiring post!

Wendy, that last picture has me dreaming. What a fantastic space to curl up with a book, as if you were in a treehouse.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hello Wendi, I just found - and bookmarked- your blog. Anything with libraries makes my heart sing and dance! Out of necessity we no longer have a living room. We have a library instead. I built the bookcases from blocks of wood and painted them shiny black to match the already existing ones we have.
